Okay folks, here's another weekend review (before little Kenny nags me to deafness to update my blog) of attaining absolute piggyness - eating and sleeping.
Before a retrograde account of my escapade, here's to my darling best friend who's back from NZ! *fireworks and celebrations* Just as she is happy to be out of the icebox and back in sunny Singapore, so am I to have her here to share my whims and fancies! Yay, more girls' night out!
Met up with PC and Von yesterday to celebrate dear PC's 22nd birthday. We brought her to a piggy feast @ Hotel Phoenix. It was their weekend high tea at the Garden Terrace and it was SUPPOSED to be good. According to reviews and hearsay that is.
(Yeah we eat rather little for a buffet but at least we eat with dignity and don't stuff ourselves silly)
But boo-ooo. It was mediocre.
I give it only 2 stars out of 5.
Even the famous roti prata was blah and tasteless. Can't even match up to the one from a stall near my place somewhere among the HDB flats' market place. And that stall isn't even as famous.
The only draw is probably the rather fragrant nasi lemak (the chilli was yummy), the succulent satay, the little chocolate fountain and the DIY rojak corner I had so much fun making a mess at. But other than that, every thing else was probably below regular food court standards. Even the ice-cream looked like the cheap supermarket kind.
Not-so-great food aside, it was wonderful hanging out with two of my best buds. At least the company was gratifying, even though the feast wasn't! =P
The whole Saturday was spent sleeping and indulging in my mum's scrumptious chicken curry. 'Nuff said snorted.
Friday night was spent at Iniavan's at Little India. Back from the US with my loot (yay more chocolates and sweet stuff!) , Jordan was craving for local food after the not-so-palatable crappy food in the US. We ended up bingeing on cheap and good South Indian food while listening to his travel stories.
In the hope of making up for the heavy Indian meal just last Saturday, Nardev, little Kenny and I smashed some squash balls into the walls on Thursday to lose that targeted 500 calories. Sadly, right after our game, I was so hungry that I downed a bowl of piping hot laksa. -_-"
It was also at that coffeeshop where I saw my first and only snippet of the World Cup. A header by the Italian team, scoring their first goal against the Czech R. I'm SO deprived of the World Cup action!! Why no cable in hall? *sulk*
