Hustle Bustle

May I have the fanfare please? Coz I'm B.A.C.K.

Sorry to those who have been itching for me to update my blog. The truth is, I've been equally desperate to pour out my daily thoughts and adventures (somewhat... when you're so caught up in being a nerd, everything else is ESPECIALLY interesting) as well, but time and circumstances were against me (ya lah, that moron of a thief who took off with my laptop @*&!!#*&^??@#!) and thus, I was MIA - as if on a road trip, one where I was taken on a bumpy ride.

For 2 weeks I've been out of touch with the outside world. I had no idea what was going on beyond the radius of NTU.

Things are about to change. Hell yeah.

Yesterday was a good day. In french, c'est belle jour.

Immediately after my last paper, I went down to Jurong Point for a quick lunch with Grace and Christian before heading for a pedicure appointment, of which I didn't have to pay a single cent (unless you want to count the bus fare from NTU lah) because I got a $50 service voucher when I bought contact lenses in bulk months ago (yep, i'm a sucker for vouchers and discounts. hey, money doesn't come by easily what... and good deals are meant to be utilised to the max!); it was like a mini-makeover day. I got my nails done while Grace did her hair.

Then it was we shopped around a little before heading back to get some rest to rejuvenate for our ladies' night out.

On my way to the train station, I passed by a newsstand and decided to check for interesting reads that might kill off some spare time (i presumed that since my exams are over, i'll have all the time in the world to laze and bum but i'm about to eat my own words. more later).

Anyway, I saw the latest copy of Her World and it was so deliciously thick, I couldn't resist not getting it, so I whipped out 6 bucks and was ready to heave the stack of glossy pages home when the auntie told me to wait. Actually, I didn't hear her myself - the uncle next to me relayed the message but when I looked at the newsstand, the auntie ignored me and got herself busy with opening some large boxes.

I was wondering if she really did ask me to wait when she dug out three shiny golden boxes of Chicken Essence. FREE. For ME.

Wahahahah! Such a wonderful surprise! Can brighten my day anyday!

So I happily lugged my treasures home and barely got enough rest before it was time to head out again.

Met my schoolmate, Grace, for a sumptious dinner at Country Manna - it's the first time I tried their pastry soup... yumyum... and we ate and ate (she had ribs while I had chicken) till we almost burst (the servings seemed extremely unconquerable; maybe it was the soup and pastry before the main course)!

I haven't had such good food in a long time. (Okay not really lah... Just last Sunday, my mum drove all the way to NTU to take me out for Hongkong cuisine at Bukit Timah for dinner. I feel so loved!)

After the stomach-inflating, appetite satisfying dinner, we headed down to Clarke Quay for our regular chillout and drinks.

Just the 2 of us

Cosmopolitan & Me

The night went fantastic with great music and drinks at both Crazy Elephant and Jazz @ Southbridge until one idiot had to come by and ruin everything.

I'll spare the details but to cut the long story short, someone tried a terrible pickup line at Jazz. Totally lame to the T, no sense of humour, zero charm and wit, couldn't counter my replies and worse, was persistent.

Buay tahan.

He needs to work on being astute and for goodness' sake, the fake American accent, if he wants to sound American at all. All in all, lame is NEVER the way to get to know girls. Intellect, gentlemen...

Today's a good day too.

Slept in till 12nn for the first time in don't know how many weeks (or months?) and got a haircut to rescue me from my hair which was getting too thick and unruly, especially at the back.

Before

After! (the length's maintained but there IS a difference right??)

Is it time for some highlights? My hair does seem a bit dull, looking all blackish.

The rest of the evening was filled with the best company, music and more.

But you'll have to come back for Part II because it's almost 5am and my eyes are demanding a break.

Till then...
